Description Silver Mist Himalayan cedar is a small, beautiful dwarf conifer noted for its snow colored foliage and dense conical habit.

  Morphology:
This ornamental cedar variant grows only 6 inches per year. After 10 years it may only attain a height of 6’ and a width of 2’-3’. On better sites full sized mature plants may eventually exceed 10’. Soft, whitish needles are borne on slightly drooping branches. The name for this Deodar cedar cultivar is derived from its snow-covered, pyramidal appearance.

  Adaptation:
This cultivar does best on moist, well-drained acidic soils. While its foliage is resistant to burning by the sun’s rays, most nurseries suggest planting it in an area where it is protected from the afternoon sun.

  Pests:
None reported.
