Description ‘Kosteri’ is a beautiful Hinoki falsecypress dwarf conifer that is valued for its twisty green foliage and dense texture.

  Morphology:
Of all the different Hinoki cypress cultivars, ‘Kosteri’ is best known for its olive green needles arranged in a fan-like arrangement with white markings beneath the foliage. The ends of the branches are often curved.

This is a slow growing dwarf conifer that only reaches a mature height of 4’, with a similar width. Mature plants have a dense, irregular pyramidal shape with age

  Adaptation:
This dwarf falsecypress prefers full sun (tolerates partial sun) on sites that are rich in organic matter in areas that are cool and moist.

It prefers the acidic soils that are commonly found west of the Cascade Mountain range.

Once established ‘Kosteri’ is considered to be drought tolerant.

  Pests:
None reported.
