Description Best known for its rich and warm flower colors throughout the summer months, Blanketflower is named for the bedding woven by Native Americans.

  Morphology:
Blanketflower is an herbaceous perennial that forms a low mound of light-green leaves which give rise to upright stems of large daisy-like flowers. Mature plants are often 24” tall.

Flowers appear from May through September. Colors include red, orange, and bright yellow. Butterflies are attracted to the flowers throughout the summer.

  Adaptation:
This garden favorite thrives in full sun in well drained soil. If watered during the summer the plants will continue to bloom. Picking off the spent flower heads will aid in further new flowers being formed.

  Pests:
No serious insect or disease problems
