Description Spotted Deadnettle is sold for its dense, silver-green mounding and trailing foliage, and white spring flowers, making it a valuable shade loving groundcover. It is also used in hanging baskets.

  Morphology:
This is a herbaceous perennial groundcover which grows 1’ tall and up to 2’ wide. It has a procumbent mat growth habit, forming a dense mound over time. The trailing stems root at the nodes thus contributing to the spread of this plant. This cultivar has very silver leaves with narrow green margins.

In late spring small white hooded flowers appear at the ends of the stems.

  Adaptation:
Spotted Deadnettle needs partial to full shade in order to thrive. It prefers an evenly moist, well-drained, moderately rich soil.

  Pests:
No serious insect or disease problems. If it is grown on a very dry spot it can melt out during the summer.
