Description Ever Red Japanese Maple is one of the best of the dissected types forming a cascading structure bearing deep red leaves during the summer.

  Morphology:
This Japanese maple variant forms a sculptured small tree that can grow to a height and width of 15’ with a pendulous growth habit. Leaves consist of 7 lobes and are deeply dissected and appear feathery. Leaves are 5” across. As they emerge in the spring they have a bright crimson color that holds well during the summer before turning bronzy green in the fall.

  Adaptation:
This cultivars does best with morning sun followed by partial afternoon shade. Under conditions of full sun the summer red color can fade excessively. As with most other Japanese maples, this cultivar prefers a well-drained site.

  Pests:
Bacterial canker and Verticillium wilt are principal disease problems on Japanese maples.
