Description A wonderful dwarf spruce with blue-green needles highlighted with silver.

  Morphology:
Papoose Sitka Spruce is a multi-stemmed dwarf conifer that grows to a height of 4’-6’ tall and as wide. Young plants form a globe-shaped shrub that may eventually form a leader and become broadly conical. This shrub only puts on 2”-3” of new growth each year. The needles are very sharp to the touch.

  Adaptation:
This species prefers moist acidic ground and cooler growing conditions. The native version of the Sitka Spruce only grows within 50 miles of the Pacific Ocean.
