Description Ligularia is grown for its texture and floral accent. During the summer flowering phase the bold yellow floral stalks bring interest to the shade garden.

  Morphology:
This un-common garden herbaceous perennial bears large leaves in rosettes which are round and toothed. On better sites (compost amended) this cultivar can attain a height of 5’.

Each flower head is a tall raceme of many yellow florets, which begin to open from the base working their way up to the top.

With the height of the flower stalk this cultivar should be planted at the back of flower bed.

  Adaptation:
This plant needs partial shade to reduce excessive leaf wilting during the day. As a bog plant it really thrives in the wet areas of the perennial garden.

  Pests:
None reported.
