Description A beautiful care-free groundcover that out-competes most weed growth.

  Morphology:
This herbaceous evergreen ground cover grows well in the Pacific Northwest to height of 6” but a spread of 18”. The leaves are succulent, light green, and finger like in shape. Leaves are nearly cylindrical in cross section.

Flowers appear in early summer and extend up until frost. They are a shining-bright pink-purple, 2” across, and appear rather daisy-like or aster-like, with a sheen verging on metallic.

  Adaptation:
To remain cold-hardy it requires maximum drainage. This is great groundcover for the Northwest where it out-competes weeds. In the dry climate of California, Hardy Ice Plant is considered an invasive weed. In the Northwest however wet soil will inhibit its spread to only the dry regions of the site.

  Pests:
None reported.
