Description An attractive woodland groundcover native to the entire PNW. Spreads rapidly by creeping rootstocks to form broad mats and is capable of overwhelming more delicate plants.

  Morphology:
Each plant bears two broad heart-shaped leaves with a spiky cluster of tiny white, foamy flowers, followed by red translucent berries in summer.

  Adaptation:
Prefers moist well-drained acid soil. Disappears in winter.

  Pests:
Other than for slugs, this groundcover is considered pest free.
