Description This lovely shrub species rose features purplish red foliage with a single reddish pink flower.

  Morphology:
This is a deciduous shrub which grows to 6’ in height with a spread of 5’. New growth emerges purplish bronze. Even the stems which bear the foliage and flowers is red which adds visual interest.

Flowers are cerise-pink, over 1” wide, and have distinct yellow male stamens. Rosehips follow blooms and are 1/2 inch long, smooth and red.

The main stems have decurved (point downward) prickles.

Synonymous with Rosa glauca.

  Adaptation:
While Redleaf Rose does best under conditions of full sun it will tolerate shade. In a garden setting consider planting RedLeaf Rose in mass plantings.

  Pests:
Resistant to black spot, powdery mildew, and rust.
