Description Often referred to as Verbena-on-a-Stick, this airy, see-through garden perennial belongs wherever the goal is to attract butterflies.

  Morphology:
This herbaceous perennial grows to 4’-6’ in height and up to 2’ in width. Leaves are dark green, lance-shaped and have serrated margins. The bulk of the leaves appear in a rounded clump near the base of the stems. Stems are stiff, widely branched and square in cross section.

Purple flowers are borne in umbels (inflorescence classified as a cym ) at the ends of the stems. Flowers appear from June through frost.

Does best in both full sun as well as part shade
