Description This cultivar is sold in the wholesale trade as a slow growing conifer with beautiful green foliage and bluish white stripes running the length of the needles.

  Morphology:
This evergreen garden conifer forms a conical, dense form, attaining an ultimate height of 30’ and width of 15’. Needles are arranged in bundles of 5, and come 3” -3.5” in length. The needles are held strictly upright on the twigs.

Cones are 2” -3” in length, and are greenish violet turning purplish brown. The cones do not open. As they mature they fall from the tree releasing the seeds within, which are readily consumed by the birds.

  Adaptation:
This species does best with full sun on moist well drained soil. A lower soil pH is preferred. It tolerates coastal conditions (salty) and moderately dry soils.

  Pests:
None reported.
