Description This is a bright golden ornamental selection of Western Red Cedar which features golden foliage during the summer months.

  Morphology:
This cultivar of the native Western Red Cedar can eventually grow to 50’ tall and extends out to 25’ wide. Needles are arranged in long-pointed scale like new leaves. During the summer the older foliage is chartreuse with golden highlights. In the winter the yellow foliage morphs to a beautiful orange to rusty brown color.

  Adaptation:
This species could be used in hedge or as specimen. It can do well in partial to full shade. As with the native Thuja plicata species this cultivar likes moist air and moist, deep, loamy soil.

  Pests:
None reported.
