Description Of all the different wintercreepers in the trade the Moonshadow cultivar is sold for its attractive variegated glossy green leaves with a variable width, muted yellow stripe running down the center.

  Morphology:
This evergreen groundcover grows to 5’ and as wide. The new growth has lighter yellow shades than the older leaves.
This cultivar has the same growth habit as the popular Emerald Gaiety cultivar. The difference is in their leaves. Moonshadow has larger, darker-green leaves, while Emerald Gaiety has a white strip down the center of the leaves.

  Adaptation:
This is a great groundcover for sunny or shady areas in the landscape. Also effective as a low hedge or edger along paths or sidewalks, massed as a slope cover where it can also provide erosion control or as a foundation planting. It does need regular watering; a weekly basis would be ideal. Under hot conditions this plant will melt out.

  Pests:
None reported.
