Description Creeping Thyme is sold as a walk-upon evergreen groundcover at Northwest garden centers.

  Morphology:
It forms a flat, dense, cushiony mat (1-2" tall) of tiny, rounded, non-aromatic, hairy green leaves. This creeping thyme cultivar is a mat-forming, slowly-spreading, woody based perennial which is primarily used as a low ground cover. A single plant can spread out to 3’ across.

  Adaptation:
This perennial easily grows in most garden sites or rock gardens. It does best in full sun and drier soils. In fact it does well where the soil is droughty and low in nutrients. Be sure to first completely remove all competing vegetation as perennial weeds can send up shoots through it.

  Pests:
No serious insect or disease problem.
