Description Partridge Feather is a woody shrub with most interesting gray-white foliage. It is a perfect plant for a rock garden with limited water.

  Morphology:
This perennial has a woody-based, mound-forming habit attaining a height and width of 1’. It bears elliptic gray white leaves which are 2”, consisting of up to 25 segments. The leaves have a wooly, soft texture.

From June through July daisy like yellow flowers, arranged as a flat corymb, appear above the foliage. The flowers are good for cutting and attracting butterflies.

  Adaptation:
Plant in full sun in well drained soil. This species prefers a sandy soil and will do poorly on heavy sites. It is used in the arid portions of the United States as a xeriscape plant. This plant requires very little attention once established. Care should be taken when touching the leaves as they can be a skin irritant.

  Pests:
None reported.
