Description Hebes come from Australia and New Zealand. The one known as Boxwood Hebe is widely grown in the Northwest nursery industry. The name is derived for its resemblance to the common boxwood plant.

  Morphology:
This is a small evergreen shrub which can grow to 3’in height but as wide as 5’ across at maturity. The oval-leafed hebes have opposite pairs of leaves that are oriented at 90 degrees to each other which lends a great textural look. Leaves are glossy green with yellow edges. White bloom extends from June through July. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds

  Adaptation:
This cultivar of Hebe prefers well drained soil with moderate water, particularly while becoming established.

  Pests:
None reported.
