Description Firefly heather is an evergreen groundcover with rich, vibrant, brick red foliage in winter and early spring.

  Morphology:
This groundcover grows to 18” in height and 24” in width. During the summer the foliage is bronze-gold, but during the winter it takes on its notable brick red coloration.

The flowers are a complementary fuchsia pink. They have the characteristic urn-shaped floral tissues as found on other members of the Ericaceae family. They appear on upright clusters in August and September.

  Adaptation:
This heather variant needs a rich compost amended site with full sun. Do not let the plant dry our during the summer.
