Description Painter’s Palette is a vigorous perennial that is grown primarily for its attractive, variegated foliage.

  Morphology:
This is an herbaceous perennial groundcover which grows to 2’ tall but can spread to 4’ across. Broad, oval, medium green leaves (to 10” long) are marbled and splashed with creamy white, yellow and a touch of pink, with each leaf having a large chocolate-red chevron pattern in the middle of the leaves.

Tiny, dark red, beady flowers form on long, slender and wand-like stems from July through September.

  Adaptation:
Full sun to part shade. Does best on sites that receive summer irrigation. With optimum growing conditions, this plant can spread aggressively in the garden by both rhizomes and self-seeding.

  Pests:
None reported. Watch the spread of this plant.
