Description This hybrid Columbine features blue flowers highlighted with white.

  Morphology:
This is a herbaceous perennial which features lobed compound leaves which remain bluish-green in color throughout the season. The plants grow to 2’ in height and slightly less in width.

Charming upwardly facing flowers appear in April through May. The flowers attract both butterflies and hummingbirds.

When foliage depreciates, plants may be cut to the ground. If the plants are watered after the bloom fades, one can enjoy the foliage which has ground cover effect.

  Adaptation:
Columbine does well in full sun to partial shade. It is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil. It tolerates a wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones. Prefers rich, moist soils with light to moderate shade.

  Pests:
One might see some leafminer damage to the leaves.
