Description Of the Japanese Cedar cultivars, Jindai Sugi is known for its dark green color and congested foliage.

  Morphology:
This is a garden conifer that has a compact, irregular pyramidal habit, which is densely branched while appearing somewhat shaggy. At maturity it can attain a height of 20 feet with a width of 6 feet. It has dark green needles arranged in numerous branchlets.

  Adaptation:
’Jindai sugi’ has performed well when planted in full sun. It prefers moist conditions as found west of the Cascades.
