Description This Japanese Maple cultivar is best known for its bright pumpkin-orange color in fall. The name means Golden Jewel of Fall.

  Morphology:
This is smaller deciduous tree that grows to 15’ in height and 10’ in width. It has an upright shape. In the spring and summer the leaves are an attractive rich green. The leaves have a pointy palm-shape.

In warmer climates it sometimes has yellow leaves in the fall that have orange and red washed across them.

  Adaptation:
This is a vigorous grower that's more adaptable to diverse growing conditions than many others of this species. It responds well to pruning and shaping as the gardener desires. I prefers sun but can withstand partial shade.

It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution.

  Pests:
Problem free, as long as the soil is well drained.
