Description There are a number of different Stripebark Maples in the trade. This one has smooth and bright green bark with notable white stripes. It is also known as Moosewood Maple.

  Morphology:
This is a deciduous tree which grows to 20’ in height and width. It features a short trunk with ascending branches eventually yielding a uneven, flat-topped to rounded crown. The leaves are 6”-9” in both width and length. Each leaf has 3 lobes which point forward.

During the summer months the leaves are green, morphing to yellow in the fall before being shed.
Flowers form in April. They are yellow in color, and form in slender pendulous clusters. Seeds are known as samaras.

  Adaptation:
This tree can grow under either full sun or partial shade but prefers the latter. It does well on most sites but prefers the cool and moist ones over the dry and hot ones.

  Pests:
None reported.
