Description Beni Hime is known as dwarf Japanese maple as it only attains a very short height at full maturity.

  Morphology:
This small garden tree, when grown under ideal conditions, reaches 4’ in height and 6’ in width at full maturity. It features red spring growth, green summer foliage and yellow, dark red and gold in the fall. Even the leaves are tiny, as some only appear to attain the size of a penny. Most of them are 1” across. The tree has a very dense leaf habit.

  Adaptation:
This cultivar does best with full sun with some afternoon shade under hot conditions. This would make an excellent selection for an outdoor model railroad builder.

  Pests:
Ensure good circulation to avoid disease problems.
