Description 'Daubs Frosted'juniper is prized for its appealing bright two-color foliage where the new growth is light golden yellow, while the older growth is feathery bluish-green. In the trade it is sold as an eye-catching accent, low growing Pfitzer-like juniper for sunny, well-drained sites where color is needed.

  Morphology:
Daub's Frosted juniper is sold as either a low growing shrub, or grafted on a standard rootstock to elevate the foliage. When grown as a shrub it will grow to a height of 2’ and a spread of 6’. When grafted on a standard rootstock it is sold as a small patio tree for in-ground or container use. It is not considered as fast growing as the ‘Pfitzeriana’ cultivar, which can easily get 5’ tall and over 10’ wide.

  Adaptation:
This cultivar likes full sun exposure and well-drained soils. Once established it is very drought tolerant. In a landscape it is considered an excellent choice for covering banks and slopes that need erosion control. It is particularly attractive around landscape boulders and rocky outcroppings. It is often used for along side retaining walls where the foliage hangs off the edges.

  Pests:
None reported.
