Description Long known as the flowering cherry planted in our nation’s capital near the Washington Monument, Yoshino Flowering Cherry is a beautiful tree during the April flowering period.

  Morphology:
This deciduous flowering tree grows to 25’ in height and 25’ in width. The pale pink blooms fade to white in late March.
Leaves are dark green with double serrated edges.

  Adaptation:
Select a sunny site that gets plenty of air movement to help dry the bloom and foliage.

  Pests:
Brown rot blossom blight will be a perennial problem where the foliage stays wet too long in the spring.
