Description With its thistle like vibrant blue flower heads, Sea Holly is a favorite for the flower arranger looking for either fresh or dried selection. This cultivar is called Blaukappe in European markets.

  Morphology:
This is an evergreen perennial that grows to 2’ in height and width. It tends to become a clump forming plant bearing spiny blue tinted stem flowers held above the foliage below. The leaves are green, scalloped and heart shaped.
The flowers are attractive to butterflies.

  Adaptation:
Se Holly is an easy care perennial in that it can tolerate hot dry sites, as it sends down a deep tap root.
