Description The Astilbe cultivar Fanal offers the shade gardener a fantastic garnet red bouquet of feathery bloom from mid-spring to mid-summer.

  Morphology:
This is a clump forming herbaceous perennial which grows to 2’ in height and width. The bronze–green foliage lies beneath the spires of deep red bloom held above. As long as the plant receives some supplemental watering during the dry Pacific Northwest summer it will maintain its vigor over the full course of the summer into the fall.
The flowers fade to brown in late summer but still hold some interest during the fall.

  Adaptation:
Astilbe prefers partial to full shade.

  Pests:
Pest free.
