Description With its intensely blue needles, and neat classical conic shape Sester’s Dwarf Colorado Blue Spruce is sold in the nursery trade as a high value specimen plant for the dwarf conifer enthusiast.

  Morphology:
The diminutive evergreen only grows to a height of 6’-8’ at maturity with a spread of 4’-5’ in a true pyramidal shape. It resembles a dwarf Alberta spruce in size and form. It bears stiff sharply pointed needles, which are 4-sided.

  Adaptation:
Requires full sun for best performance As it grows so slowly and does not assume the eventual size of the true Colorado spruce, this cultivar is well suited to the smaller yard or confined space.

  Pests:
Spruce aphid and White pine weevil are common problems on spruce grown in mild climates.
