Description As a dwarf English yew, the cultivar ‘Tauntonii’ is sold in the trade for its good resistance to winter burn and good summer heat tolerance.

  Morphology:
This evergreen shrub spreads 5’-6’ but only stays 3’-4’ tall. This plant bears needles which are lustrous dark green in color. Needles are two-ranked.

  Adaptation:
Taunton’s Yew can be raised in either sun or partial shade. While it does best best in fertile, moist soil with good drainage it can tolerate a wide array of soil types. It is often used in foundation plantings or massed together for clipped hedges or un-managed screens.

Keep small children away from yew bushes as all parts of the plant are poisonous.

  Pests:
None reported.
