Description While Bachelor Button is a commonly grown garden annual it is also widely used as a dried flower in the florist trade. Also known as Cornflower.

  Morphology:
Bachelor buttons are annuals which grow from 1’-3’ tall. Stems are pubescent. Leaves are linear and up to 4” long. They are arranged in an alternate fashion.

This species blooms from May – September. Flowers are typically bright blue but can be white, blue-purple, or pink.

  Adaptation:
Full sun; tolerates a wide array of soil types.

  Pests:
No serious insect or disease problems.
