Description Used primarily as an herbaceous perennial, Golden Variegated Sage can also be considered a culinary herb whose leaves have a unique pungent flavor and aroma when used in cooking.

  Morphology:
This sage cultivar forms a clump 2’ tall and as wide. It stems bears green leaves with irregular yellow margins.

In early summer it may send up flower stalks of two-lipped lavender-purple flowers.

  Adaptation:
Golden Variegated Sage needs full sun. It does best on loam soils, but cannot with-stand wet soils during the winter. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds. During the spring before new growth emerges it is best to cut away the spent winter foliage.
