Description Love-Lies-Bleeding is a truly impressive annual with brilliant, purplish-crimson flowers forming 2’ long tassels, hence the alternate name of Tassel flower.

  Morphology:
This plant reaches a height of 2’- 5’ and a width of 2’ on good sites. The flowers hand from a single stalk plant which bears heart shaped green leaves.

  Adaptation:
Tassel flower does best in full sun. Start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date or purchase starter plants. Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between waterings. While it is commonly grown in the garden it can also be used in a hanging basket plant. The flowers can be dried as well.

  Pests:
None reported.
