Description Lemon Sunset is a cultivar of Evening Primrose whose fragrant flowers open in the evening and then stay open until the following afternoon.

  Morphology:
This herbaceous perennial grows to 4’ tall and spreads to 3'. Leaves are green and narrow in width.

This particular cultivar features soft yellow flowers (4 petals) which are cup shaped. As the flowers mature they acquire a reddish tint (hence the name). Flowering occurs from June through August.

  Adaptation:
Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. May be grown from seed and may self-seed in optimum growing conditions. If left unattended, the roots spread in a network that requires heavy cutting/tugging to remove.

  Pests:
None reported.
