Description Snow Sprite Deodar Cedar is a beautiful dwarf conifer noted for its silvery green needles with cream-hued tips.

  Morphology:
A dwarf, drought tolerant conifer, this Deodar Cedar cultivar grows slowly to 4’ tall (eventually 10’ after 20 years) and 6’ wide in a mounding habit. A leader may develop over time, but could be pruned out to keep the mound shape. When given summer irrigation it will grow faster. The new growth is tinged with white that turns a creamy-yellow with age.

  Adaptation:
West of the Cascades this plant will take full sun, though it prefers partial shade in hot locations. It prefers a well-drained site with acidic soils. It should be protected from winter winds which can desiccate the foliage.

  Pests:
None reported.
