Description Golden Pfitzer Juniper sports both gold colored new and old foliage, giving the plant its common name.

  Morphology:
Golden Pfitzer Juniper is a fast-growing evergreen conifer shrub that can reach 3’-5' in height with a width of 10’ or more. It has main branches which emerge at a 45 degree angle to the ground. Branch tips often droop. The older leaves are scale-like while the new ones are awl-shaped (shaped like needles). The foliage is pungent when crushed.

This is a male plant so that no berries will form.
The ornamental industry has released numerous cultivars that have similar traits to this one.

  Adaptation:
This outstanding ornamental grows well even under difficult conditions such as those at urban sites or the seashore. Grows best in full sun, but will tolerate some shade. It does best on well-drained soils. It is considered drought tolerant once it is established.

  Pests:
Generally pest free.
