Description Golden Ghost Japanese Red Pine features glossy green needles which are highlighted with bright yellow, thus setting the stage for an excellent focal point plant.

  Morphology:
This is a dwarf conifer that grows to 7’ in height and 4’ in width after 10 years. Older specimens will grow taller (perhaps 10’). It has light green needles whose tips turn bright yellow in the spring. In the summer the yellow can fade to a striking white. It appears to be resistant to scorching, even in full sun, and it is super cold hardy.

  Adaptation:
This plant does best under conditions of full sun and slightly acidic soils. It would be considered drought tolerant once established.

  Pests:
None reported.
