Description With its dense and bright glossy green foliage Dwarf Balsam Fir does well in a moist garden. It would prefer the cooler regions of the Pacific Northwest.

  Morphology:
This is a dwarf conifer that eventually grows to 3’ in both height and width’ forming a globose shape. It often forms a flattened top which adds interest. It bears needles which are approximately a third of an inch long. They start out the season light green but darken as they age. Look for white stomatal lines on the underside.

  Adaptation:
Sun or partial shade. In hot conditions it would benefit from filtered sunlight. It will perform best with supplemental irrigation during the summer.
